Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars Preview

Disney Infinity is Disney’s take on the toys come to life category of video games that started with Activision’s Skylanders.  The basic premise is these games come with a base that you connect to your game console of choice via usb and place a plastic action figure representing a Disney character on it and they come to life on the screen.  In all honesty, Disney Infinity hasn’t hit in our household as much as anyone who knows our family thinks it would.  We have 1.0 and 2.0 and have a lot of the figures but we really haven’t enjoyed the actual games a whole lot.  We actually enjoyed 1.0 way more then 2.0.  The levels that came in the 1.0 starter pack (Monsters U, Pirates of the Caribbean and Incredibles) were a lot of fun.  I particularly enjoyed the Pirates play set.  Disney Infinity 2.0 brought the Marvel super heroes and I thought Hayden and I would love this game but it was unbearably boring!  We still got a bunch of the figures because Hayden loves to play with those independent of the game but we barely played the play sets that came with the starter pack and Hayden spent most of this time playing in the toy box.

Even though we have been disappointed with the gameplay of Disney Infinity so far, I can’t but help to be excited for Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars.  The first time I heard about Disney Infinity my mind instantly thought about a Star Wars version.  Not only does it have the possibility to be a fun game but the Star Wars fan by nature is obsessed to collecting all things Star Wars.  I hope the game is fun but I won’t lie to you when I say that we will be buying everyone of these figures.  You can call me a Star Wars sheep but all I can say to that is, “baaaaa”.

The Disney Infinity 3.0 starter pack will come with the base, the Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic play set and the Ashoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker figures.  There will be three Star Wars play sets in addition to Twilight of the Republic: Rise Against the Empire and one based on the upcoming movie, The Force Awakens.  The game is slated to release August 30, 2015 in North America.  As we get closer to the release of Disney Infinity 3.0 we will talk more about it’s features and upcoming figures that will be released later this year.  Stay tuned!
